Both gas engines have Auto Start-Stop Technology, which helps you save fuel. The engine shuts off when you're stopped at a light or a stop sign. Then, when you're ready to go again, the engine comes back to life as you step on the accelerator.
To help you personalize your driving experience even further, the Escape has five standard drive modes to choose from:

- Deep Snow/Sand
Each drive mode changes the traction and electronic stability controls, so you get what you need from your Escape.
