These cargo figures are altered slightly if you choose a Ford Escape with either the plug-in hybrid or regular hybrid motor. Because the inclusion of different power sources is needed for a hybrid setup to thrive, the cabin loses just a touch of overall cargo capacity:

By moving to either the 2.0L offering or one of the hybrid powerplants, you can also expect a favorable towing capacity:

• The 2.0L engine with all-wheel drive (AWD) reaches a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.
• The 2.5L hybrid and 2.5L plug-in hybrid both reach a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 pounds.

Towing & Capability Technology

The hands-free, foot-activated liftgate is available with the SEL Technology Package and is a standard inclusion on the Titanium trim. So, how does it work? If you're on a busy street and find a parallel parking spot you'd like to nestle into, you merely line your vehicle up with the spot. Then, you shift to neutral and begin holding down the Active Park Assist button in the cabin. While holding the button down, your Escape will accelerate, decelerate, and steer itself until you're comfortably in the parking space!

Additionally, a Park Out Assist system will help ensure you don't pull out into traffic or hit another car that's parked close to you.

Ford Co-Pilot360™ Assist+

Active Park Assist 2.0 is just the first in a long lineup of driver-assistance features for the 2021 Ford Escape.

The highest form of safety the SUV offers comes from the Ford Co-Pilot360™ Assist+ setup, which offers:

• Speed Sign Recognition
