What Gas Do I Use for the Ford Mustang?

The base level Ford Mustang with the 3.7L V6 gets regular gasoline. When equipped with the 2.3L GTDI 4-cylinder engine, the Ford Mustang requires 93 octane fuel so it can reach its 310 horsepower potential. The Mustang GT and the Shelby GT350® require premium fuel so they can reach 435 horsepower and 526 horsepower, respectively.

What Is Ford Mustang GT?

The GT in the Ford Mustang GT means "Grand Touring," or "Gran Turismo" in Italian. This refers to vehicles that can make long-distance trips while providing style and comfort. The GT stamp is typically reserved for sedans that add a little more power than the base level models. The Mustang GT can deliver 435 horsepower, while the Shelby GT350® can hit 526 horsepower. These are the top performance trims with the Mustang lineup.

 

What Are the Ford Mustang Models?

As for the 2017 lineup, there's the base level Mustang V6 Fastback, the Mustang EcoBoost® Fastback, the Mustang GT Fastback, and the Mustang Shelby GT350® and GT350R®. Different models are available as performance-based coupes or as convertibles.

 

Which Ford Mustang Has the Most Horsepower?

The Ford Mustang that hosts the most horsepower is the Mustang Shelby GT350®. This model is outfitted with a 5.2L flat-plane crank V8 engine that produces 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque when it's filled with premium fuel. While all Ford Mustang models deliver a great deal of power with their engines, drivers who are looking for the highest output can get it with the Mustang Shelby GT350®.

 

Which Ford Mustang Has a Diesel Engine?

The Ford Mustang doesn't offer a diesel engine. However, some do-it-yourself mechanics have customized their Mustang to feature a diesel engine.

 

Which Ford Mustang Has EcoBoost®?

The Ford Mustang EcoBoost® Fastback, the Mustang EcoBoost® Premium Fastback, and the Mustang EcoBoost® Premium Convertible are all equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder engine that delivers 310 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque when filled with 93 octane fuel. There are 10 Ford Mustang trims in total. Of the 10 trims, only three of these models have EcoBoost®.
