Ford F-450 Performance

The Ford F-450 has three engines to choose from. All three work in tandem with a standard TorqShift® 10-speed SelectShift Automatic® transmission with five drive modes:

  • Normal
  • Slippery
  • Tow/Haul
  • Eco
  • Deep Snow/Sand

The transmission also has a focus on optimizing drive ratios and improving shift performance.

The standard engine in the F-450 is a 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel that puts out an impressive 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque.

The other two engines available are gas. There's the 6.2L Flex Fuel V8 and the 7.3L V8-both offering more than 380 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque.

Ford F-450 Interior

The interior of the F-450 is designed for both practicality and comfort. You get the SYNC® 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch center stack screen on trims higher than the base XL trim.

This system has features like:

  • Smartphone integration
  • SiriusXM®
  • Available in-vehicle navigation

The truck also comes with carpet delete, which is vinyl flooring across every trim level. Vinyl is easier to clean than carpet, doesn't stain, and holds up longer than carpet.

To charge phones, you have the option of one standard USB port in the lower center console or the available wireless charging pad.

The seating of the F-450 changes, depending on the trim level you select. However, it starts out with vinyl seating for durability, and you can choose available leather seating, if you prefer.

Ford F-450 Trim Levels

The Ford F-450 has six trim levels:

  • XL
  • XLT
  • LARIAT
  • King Ranch
  • Platinum
  • Limited

The base trim level is the XL. It offers a standard Rear View Camera so that you can see obstacles behind your vehicle. If you're looking for the fleet version of the F-450, you'll also get standard Ford Telematicsâ„¢, which monitors your trucks to understand where they go, how they get used, and how they're running.

A mid-tier trim of the F-450 is the King Ranch. With it comes dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control to keep you and anyone else in your cabin comfortable. To help you see at night, you'll get standard Auto High-Beam Headlamps. There are also LED box lights available so that you can load your truck bed with better visibility.

The highest trim level for the F-450 is the Limited. This trim is luxurious with standard 2-tone Limited Admiral Blue/Light Slate leather seats plus a driver seat with 10-way power-adjustability and memory. There is a built-in navigation system included in this trim, as well.
