If you're looking for a tough, powerful truck that can get the job done, the 2022 Ford F-250 might be the truck for you. It offers a bit more power than the F-150 and can handle both the worksite and an off-roading trail.

Richmond Ford Lincoln is thrilled to share the 2022 Ford F-250 with our friends around the Richmond, Mechanicsville, and Ashland, Virginia, areas. Give this review a read to learn about the F-250's engine options, towing capacity, and productivity features.

2022 Ford F-250 Engine Options and Power

The F-250 boasts three powerful engines to choose from: two gas and one diesel engine.

The standard engine under the hood of the F-250 is a 6.2L V8 gas engine with 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a TorqShift® G 6-speed SelectShift Automatic® transmission.

The other gas engine available offers a little bit more power. The 7.3L V8 gas engine provides an impressive 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.

However, for the most power and torque, you'll want the available 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel engine with a whopping 1,050 lb-ft of torque and 475 horsepower.

Both of these higher-powered engines work in tandem with TorqShift® 10-speed SelectShift Automatic® transmission with selectable drive modes. The selectable drive modes are:

  • Normal
  • Slippery
  • Tow/Haul
  • Eco
  • Deep Sand/Snow

If you opt for the available Tremor Off-Road Package, you get an additional mode-rock crawl mode.

2022 Ford F-250 Towing and Payload Capacity

The 2022 Ford F-250 has plenty of power to tow and haul anything you might need.

When properly equipped, the maximum towing capacity of the F-250 is 22,800 pounds. With this much power, you can tow things like:

  • Construction Equipment
  • Large Horse Trailers
  • RVs

If you are concerned more with filling up the truck bed, you can do that, too. The maximum payload capacity of the F-250 is 4,260 pounds.

To help you load the truck bed, the F-250 offers an available Tailgate Step. You can get in and out of the truck bed. The step is then stowed in the tailgate when you're not using it.

2022 Ford F-250 Productivity Features

If you're planning on using the F-250 for work, there are plenty of productivity features to help you tackle any jobs you might have.

Working at night? The available exterior LED Lighting system can help. Lighting is featured all over the truck, including:

  • Side-Mirror Spotlights
  • Center High-Mounted Stop lamp
  • Security Approach Lamp

To help you tow, the F-250 has an available Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System with Pro Trailer Backup Assistâ„¢. Several of these features can help you see around your vehicle, hook up your trailer, and reverse the trailer safely.

Inside the Ford F-250, you can find more productivity features, including the available SYNC® 4 infotainment system. With this system, you can get in-vehicle navigation, hands-free calling via Bluetooth®, and a digital owner's manual.
