Power Comes Standard

There are three trims level for the 2021 Ford Ranger, all of which share the same EcoBoost® 4-cylinder engine. So, you won't need to look past the standard trim to get the impressive power this truck affords.

The 4-cylinder makes 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. An auto start/stop system also comes standard, and it will shut off your engine when your truck comes to a complete halt in an effort to save fuel.

Speaking of fuel, the Ranger is pretty darn good at conserving it. EPA estimates for the 4x2 drivetrain check in at 21 city/26 highway MPG. There isn't much of a drop-off if you move to the 4x4 drivetrain, either, as EPA estimates check in at 20 city/24 highway MPG.

What Is The Maximum Towing Capacity and Payload?

So, how well does the Ford Ranger put down all this power when you have a trailer attached? The answer is… pretty darn well.

A maximum towing capacity of 7,500 pounds gives you a lot of options for towing. That number remains the same, regardless of the cab style you opt for with your Ranger.

Payload is also strong. The maximum payload reaches 1,860 pounds when properly equipped. This figure will vary slightly, depending on your drivetrain type and the cab type you select. Still, payload will always remain above 1,400 pounds in any configuration.

Technology: What's Inside?

There's a lot going on with the technology of the 2021 Ford Ranger. Certain technologies help provide traction on slick roads or dirt trails; other systems will help you stay connected to the world while you're on the go; additional features are used to help keep you safe.

Ford Co-Pilot360™ is the center of all the Ford Ranger driver-assistance features. Inclusions such as BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Trailer Coverage-which gives you an idea of vehicles that may be driving in your blind spot-and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking come in handy.

The truck is compatible with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, as well-systems you can use to link your smartphone to the touchscreen display!
