2021 Ford Explorer ST
The ST trim levels are becoming more common throughout the Ford lineup. The ST is a performance variant of the regular vehicle, making the Ford Explorer ST a trim that emphasizes an athletic and riveting performance.
To do this, the standard engine, which is a 300-horsepower 2.3L 4-cylinder, is swapped out for a 3.0L EcoBoost® V6. The 3.0L V6 generates up to 365 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque-as it does in the Ford Explorer Platinum-but it churns out 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque in the ST trim. All that strength allows the SUV to hit a top speed of 143 MPH on the open road.
