Ford F-150 Lightning: Performance

The Ford F-150 Lightning is an all-electric truck that uses batteries and motors instead of a gas or diesel engine.

The first battery option you have in the F-150 Lightning is a Standard Range battery with an impressive 426 horsepower and EPA-estimated 230-mile range per full charge.

The other battery is the available Extended Range. You get 563 horsepower with this battery and an additional 70 miles per charge.

What these batteries have in common are the four available drive modes:

Ford F-150 Lightning: Interior

Inside the F-150 Lightning, you'll find a great combination of comfort and technology.

The truck seats five and offers an impressive 43.6 inches of legroom in the rear and 43.9 inches in front. The seats can then be covered in the following materials (depending on which you prefer):

  • Vinyl
  • Cloth
  • Leather

Additionally, an available Interior Work Surface lets you get paperwork done even while you're out on a jobsite. It folds directly from the center console.

 

The infotainment system inside the F-150 Lightning is large from the get-go. It has a standard 12-inch touchscreen powered by SYNC® 4. You can keep your hands on the wheel and use standard enhanced voice recognition to make calls or get directions from your smartphone. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ come standard, too.


Ford F-150 Lightning: Trim Levels

The Ford F-150 Lightning has four trim levels to choose from:

  • Pro
  • XLT
  • Lariat
  • Platinum

The Pro is the vehicle's base trim level. It has the Standard Range battery and a front trunk (the Mega Power Frunk) with a maximum cargo capacity of 14.1 cubic feet. A tailgate with lift assist is also standard on the Pro trim.

The next trim level is the XLT. It has available LED box lighting with Zone Lighting and a standard 360-degree camera system.

The third trim level is the Lariat. The infotainment system gets an upgrade with SYNC® 4A technology and a 15.5-inch portrait touchscreen. You can also enjoy a B&O Sound System with eight speakers and a subwoofer.

The highest trim is the Platinum. Enjoy a sound system with 18 speakers, a standard Phone as a Key functionality, and premium Nirvana leather-trimmed seating.
